AP Minnesota Senator and former Saturday Night Live star Al Franken has been getting some political help from his old colleagues in the entertainment business. Comedian Conan O Brien, who was a writer for SNL while Franken was on the show, will headline a reception and dinner to raise money for the senator s political action committee, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. A minimum donation of $500 is required to attend the fundraiser, which will be held at a private home in Minneapolis on May 17, the newspaper reports. For $4,800, guests can get their photo taken with O Brien and Franken. The money raised will go to Franken s joint fundraising PAC, Franken MVPs, according to the Star Tribune.
