Allen Robnett said some people were hanging out windows when firefighters arrived and numerous people were rescued with ladders from the four-story building. It was as intense as it gets, Robnett said, as reported by CBS Station KCNC Denver. It was an offensive fire attack by the fire crews at the same time doing numerous fire rescues. KCNS also reported that fire crews arrived around 11 p.m. as flames were emanating from a stairwell area, according to officials. It s also about a block away from Holmes apartment.Firefighters are investigating a witness report of someone with a gas can leaving the building but say there s nothing to indicate a connection with the shooting.
