When the sculpture and stone mason Jean-Louis Boistel set

stanley cup ethlehem Chapel in Nantes, France, he decided to add some unorthodox decorations to the
stanley mug 15th century church. While some of the newer stone gargoyles or, to be more accurate, chimeras adorning the pinnacles are inspired by Christian tradition, others come from more modern sources鈥攏amely television and the movies. The chapel was renovated from 1993 through 1995, when it gained these new decorations. I wonder if Boistel was inspired to add a little pop culture to this house of worship by the Darth Vader grotesque that was added to Washington, DC National Cathedral in the 1980s. Boistel went a bit further, adding Gizmo and a gremlin from the movie Gremlins, an Alien xenomorph, and the super robot from UFO Robot Grendizer, which was extremely popular in France.

A bacterium found in sewage water could revolutionize modern medicine. It basically the bacterial equivalent of a vampire, spending its time hunting other bacteria and sucking out all their nutrients. This could re

Scientists have known about it for a good thirty years, but it proven extremely difficult to study using traditional techniques. University of Virginia researchers have only just managed to decode its genome and figure out how it works, and their findings are intriguing. Micavibrio aeruginosavorus survives by finding certain other strains of bacteria. It then attaches itself to its prey cell wall and begins leeching on the victim nutrients. That unusual for bacte

For whatever reason, that isn ;t an option for this bacterium, which has to rely on finding and destroying other bacteria to live. You can see it in action in the photo up top it the yellow bacterium feeding on the purple Pseudomonas aeruginosa. At least one of its preferred victims is an enemy of humans.
