On the heels of Paramedic Services Week, three paramedics serving Muskoka and Parry Sound have been

stanley tumblers el Michaelis of Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services.The trio are three of the 13 paramedics recognized for courageous actions this year. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW A presentation was held virtually, where medals were presented by Deputy Premier and Health Minister Christine Elliot and Assistant Deputy Minister Susan Picarello.Leggett was honoured for rescuing a family with two young children in October 2019 when their house caught fire. Before the fire department had arrived, Leggett and an OPP officer broke the front window of the home and Leggett navigated heavy smoke to find a mother and her two children trapped inside on the second floor. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW Together, they found the family and lowered down the children to two partners outside of the house, the province said in a news release announcing the honours. Efforts were made to combat the fire and all the occupants of the house were rescued safely including the family pet. In 2019,聽the District of Muskoka awarded Leggett with a commendation, along with three other first responders on scene the day of the fire. ARTICL
