As a professional photographer, Niagara Jennifer Blakeley is used to controlling everything in her studio. The lighting, the backdrop, the atmosphere.Now, the studio is her car. Her subjects are 12 metres away. And the backdrop is their porch. With COVID-19 keeping her studio closed, she taking to the streets to capture Niagara families riding out the pandemic in in their homes.After seeing a similar project by a U.S. photographer on the news, Blakeley started photographing some friends on their porches. No makeup, no preparation.The resulting photos are a snapshot of resilient Niagara families during a crisis. Some wear surgical masks, others are in pyjamas. Some hug and kiss, others leap in the air.
