Smoke alarms 鈥?three in total 鈥?inside a two-storey building with apartments in Welland were found to be disabled following an investigation into a fire Monday night, says Welland Fire and Emergency Services acting Chief Adam Eckhart.There were no injuries in the fire, but Eckhart said it could have had a much different outcome had the blaze happened overnight when residents were asleep.
