The Corvette  Stingray has an exterior that looks like that of a true sports car, but its interior lacks the pedigree of a true sports car. This is due to its fiberglass body. The 3.9-liter 'Blue Flame' inline-six was mated to a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission at the time since GM's manual transmissions were only capable of handling 150 horsepower. As well as leaks, the windowless doors sometimes wouldn't shut.
