Smith was found dead in her Olathe home in the 800 block of North Hamilton Street around 3 a.m. July 5.On March 11, Johnson County prosecutors charged Barnes with felony stalking of Smith in connection to an incident on March 5 in Olathe.A preliminary hearing that had been scheduled for June 10 in the case was delayed due to COVID-19.Barnes was arrested after an investigation by the Olathe Police Department and Johnson County Crime Lab.His bond is set at $1,000,000.A court date has not been set yet.
