And why Because 9 of 10 of these cyclists do not have a bell or horn as is required by bylaw 75 5 . Of the few that do comply with the law, when they do ring or honk to warn us that they are approaching from behind, we stop and stay still so that they can pass. Because this warning is the exception, we find ourselves thanking the cyclist for their warning. Also, if one of us sustains serious injury we have little recourse against the offending cyclist because they dont have to have insurance. My suggestion to Mr. Shellnutt is as well as advocating for cyclists, perhaps he should also advocate to cyclists, tha
